Busta Rhymes is promising a new album this summer for all of his fans. The album, titled The Chemo, is the rapper's ninth studio album since busting - no pun intended - onto the rap scene with The Coming in 1996.
In an interview with Billboard, the rapper shared a few details surrounding his latest project including the reasoning behind its title. "I called the album The Chemo because it seems like the industry and music overall is dying slowly," Busta explained.
"The cancer that's stricken the business is killing the music, not only from a business standpoint, but also the value of the content and the creativity behind it. I just want to start the first stage of chemotherapy treatment that needs to take place and hopefully inspire others to do their part and contribute to different stages of the cure" the 37-year-old rapper added.
Speaking to CBS at the 2010 Grammy Awards, Rhymes revealed the album will be released on July 4, 2010. The project will feature production from Swizz Beatz, Ted Smooth, Rockwilder and Jerry Wonder.
