Lady Gaga has made quite the name for herself as one of music's brightest stars, but her past is a mystery for many...a past she admits is full of dark moments.  

During an interview with the New York Times, Gaga revealed she was once addicted to drugs, but gave it up for her fans. "I left [my past] behind because I had to," she said. "For many reasons, like drugs. It's no secret that I have had problems with drugs in the past. And some places represent to me things in terms of my mental and physical health, so you learn to move on, to preserve what your mission in life is, and my greater mission is my fans."

Gaga, who recently won two Grammy awards, also made it clear family comes first despite her increasing fame. "It's hard knowing who to trust with your personal life. When you cry in your room at night, you don't always know who to call. So I am very close to my family."

The 23-year-old starlett closed out the interview by once again making it clear her fans important to her, more important than her own needs. "I live my life completely serving only my work and my fans. And that way, I have to think about not what is best for my vagina, but what is best for my fans and for me artistically."

R&B singer Actress Mariah Carey walked the Academy Award red carpet in an elegant Valentino dress alongside hubby, Nick Cannon on Sunday night; the two were all smiles the entire time and seemed to be enjoying their night.

Carey, who starred in the Academy Award nominated film Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire, spoke on her role as a rugged social worker. During her quick interview with TV Guide, the singer recalled a friend of hers making it clear that this roll was not the typical glamorous one for the star. "You were in Mariah Carey hell [her friend said]."

Of course, as the true jokester he is, Nick Cannon made it a point to let everyone know his wifey can look beautiful in any way. "The mustache [in the movie] was amazing", he joked.

Actress Mo'Nique snagged her first Academy Award Sunday night (March 7) for her role in the critically acclaimed film, Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire.

Mo accepted the award displaying true modesty and class. “I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics,” she said with emotion.

Mo’Nique’s acting skills were put to the test with her incredible portrayal of Mary, a mother who abuses her daughter physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually. The performance landed her several awards including a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and NAACP Image Award.

Dental surgery, a courthouse fire and scheduling issues should have no chance in interfering with Lil Wayne starting his one-year prison sentence later today.

The rapper was set to be sentenced last month, but Wayne's attorney requested a delay so the rapper could undergo eight root canals. Then, just hours before he was set to head to Rikers Island the second time, a fire broke out at the Manhattan Criminal Court Building delaying his departure. 

Wayne is now set to appear before his judge on Monday (March 8) afternoon and plead guilty to attempted gun possession. He's then expected to turn himself in immediately to begin his prison term. 

As the true workaholic he is, Weezy has been spending these past lucky weeks completing a number of music videos to keep fans happy while he's away; this includes shooting nine music videos in one weekend.

Vivica Fox stopped by "The Wendy Williams Show" this week, and wasn't hesitant to spill the beans on her new boyfriend Slim, a promoter from Atlanta. "He has his own identity and career happening. Honestly, when I met him I just couldn't stop thinking about him," Fox told Williams.   

Vivica said that if she learned anything from her past relationships, it was the importance of time. "I waited for love this time," she added.

Fox, who will be hosting TV Guides red carpet show this Sunday at the 82nd Academy Awards, is going back to work in April to produce the upcoming play, "Cheaper To Keeper."

Earlier this week, Eric told you Young Jeezy is planning to release his fourth studio album, Thug Motivation 103, in June. Now we know at least one of the songs that will appear on the album: a collaboration track with Jeezy and Beyonce which will serve as the first single off the album.

Although you can bet this song will be a hit, details about the song, including its producer and creative direction, remain under wraps. 

It might be a minute before Jeezy and B can get in the studio anyway. Especially since Jeezy is busy touring with Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z. Earlier this week, Jeezy, Jay-Z and Trey Songz - or The Mod Squad for short - performed at Madison Square Garden; Jeezy's rocked the house with his performances of "BedRock," "Real As It Gets" and "I'm Goin' In."

It's Friday, so why not kick off your weekend by downloading one of the most highly anticipated mixtapes of the year? Fabolous' The Funeral Service has finally dropped after being delayed multiple times - it was originally scheduled to drop on Christmas.

"Timing was the hardest part," the Brooklyn rapper said of the project's delayed release. "You know I have a very crazy schedule, I have a lot of shows -- I wanted to take time out and make time to do this album, to do this mixtape, I keep referring to it as an album because that's what it felt like...I chose the opportunity to work with some of the people I didn't get to work with before like Nicki and Cam. They make good music, I make good music and you put good music and good music together and you make great music. I think they were helpful in making the mixtape as well, it's a great project...I put a lot of hard work into it."

The Funeral Service was put together by DJ Drama and features Nicki Minaj, Cam'ron, Juelz Santana and Trey Songz to name a few. To download the mixtape, click here; you can also stream it when you pop the hood. 

People can hate on Rick Ross all they want, but dude is nice in the booth - no question! A new joint from Ross just dropped called "Grab Your Ass" which proves my point. The track features production from Tha Bizness. No official word on if this song will appear on Teflon Don, but it's definitely worth a listen. 

Look for Teflon Don to drop later this year. 

The first official single off Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later, is finally here and is pretty damn good. "Over," which was released Thursday night, features production from Boi-1da & Al Khaaliq. 

"I went with 'Over' as the first look because of the words in the hook; the hook being the most repetitive part" Drake explained in a recent interview. "I got a lot of great songs on my album. I got songs for women who wanna feel special. I got songs for dudes — if you ever thought my music was too soft, this is one you will enjoy. I got a lot of variety on there, but the biggest thing was that opening line on the hook: 'I know way too many people here right now that I didn't know last year.'

Drake is planning to shoot a music video for "Over" next week in Los Angeles. Thank Me Later is scheduled to drop in May. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and The-Dream are all rumored to be appearing on the album. In the meantime, listen to "Over" below - spotted first here. 

St. Louis rapper J-Kwon has been found alive calming concerns over his month long disappearance. Earlier this week, Kwon's record label released a statement asking for the public's help in locating the artist after he had vanished without informing anyone on his whereabouts. 

"I am very happy to let everyone know that I personally spoke with J-Kwon today, and he is OK," his manager, Dorian Washington, said in a statement. "He'd like to send a sincere apology to his friends and everyone who showed concern this week. He was taking some time to himself as he sometimes does, not realizing that people would start to worry after a while. A few days out of touch versus a month is quite a difference."

"Right now, he just wants to keep doing what he's doing and will be more available for those who care about him. We thank you again for your outreach, and we are relieved to know he'll be all right." 

Sounds like J-Kwon had a little Dave Chappelle moment there. Hopefully, he'll pull it together and get back to making music.
