Just built one of your training stands and it works great! I bought a used ninja 400 3d pro that someone had wrecked because all of the dip switches and the head geometry was all wrong. I am happy to say i was able to get everything straightened out as it should be all thanks to this video and your training stand =)

what did you use to attach the heli to the 1/4″ ply?

  5. HyRisen says:

ok, what is the purpose of the bolt in the center of the base? Why is it needed? Once the 24″ steel rod is installed what is the bolts purpose?

    Hi nice video,
I have a question, the ramin rod size is 1/4″ and the Flat shoulder bolt is 1/4″ this will not work is there a typo? should the ramin rod be 1/2″.

    Thanks

WOW,,,,, this is a great idea.,,,, however,, it is way, way, too hard for me to build something like this.

All I did for my training stand is take a 4′x4′ little sheet of plywood.. get a heavy duty staple gun and staple a 2 foot piece of string or you could even drive a nail into the center of the plywood and bend it over on a 2 or 3 foot piece of string ,, and tie the other end on the bottom center of the training balls and go for it. You will be able to learn your hover just fine.

@scottsl1050 If you still have the heli, it came with the 6Dxi radio. This radio is programmed for 3D flying and you will have problem even doing a simple hover (should not say simple, it is not that easy). But if you lower the power, pitch etc.. curve setting on the radio, you can tame this heli and actually fly it, and once you are use to it you can raise the setting slowly untill you are at the 3D level.
Get this ebook Setup & Tips For 400 Size RC Helicopters by J. Salt and you will fly.

@uztoobz If the assembly is to stiff, you could actually bend the rotor shaft if you have a hard movement (since the heli has a lot of power), therefore fast acceleration but almost instant stop. (no decelaration = extreme G= bent shaft. Have some nice flying.

@me69herdaily Just came with an idea of adding an extension to the base so we have a larger radius by about 12 inches, but removable so the maximum diameter stays at 24 inch for easy transport. This should solve my tilting problem. I have many ideas that I am testing. Will post my final design. Happy Flying.

Love your stand, except for one problem. Never flew a helicopter and bought the Blade 400. Build the stand and had the rod coming out half way. Had the Blade 400 at the maximum height, as the heli tilted forward it actually pulled the hole stand to the ground. Damages that I see, Broken blades and multi cracks on the nose. I noticed that pulling on the stand fully extended does not require a lot of force, compared to having the rod coming out only 6 inches.

I think you have a very good idea there. I got it it right the first time, so i wouldnt need it. No i didn`t really do that.

  23. doschal3373 says:

If the training stands are still avalable, I would be intrested in buying one from you. I have an E-Flight Blade CP-Pro 2. Can you let me know if I can order one? I would need to know the total cost for the stand and shipping to north-east Pa. Thanks

  24. bantonlove says:

So do you sell the kit that I can put it together?
